Who We Are

Imagine if your favorite childhood dessert turned out to be one of the healthiest foods on the planet?

This is what happened to our founder Kisara. Since she grew up eating Kinako with Japanese sweets, she assumed it wasn’t any better for you than marshmallows or other dessert add-ons. 

 

That is, until our co-founder Javin, a food science whiz, entered the picture. 

 

Together, through countless hours of research and testing, Kisara and Javin dialed in on Kinako’s off-the-charts nutrition and versatility as a universal condiment. As it turns out, being a dessert topping was just skimming the surface of Kinako’s potential!
